Panopticon (Part 1) - Jeremy Bentham

Jeremy Bentham conceived a design for a prison structure where a single person could observe all the cells simultaneously, ensuring control.
The goal was to monitor prisoners to prevent escapes, regulate their behavior, and intervene if necessary.
The idea involves placing a prison guard at the center of a semicircular structure called the Panopticon, where all the cells are arranged.
You will take on the role of the "prison guard" in a Panopticon, tasked with monitoring four games. You can decide which ones to put on high alert.
Observe everyone (the literal translation of Panopticon): if you notice suspicious movements, you can choose to put certain games on high alert.
How it works: Watch the screen, and if you tap/click on a quadrant, it will be placed on high alert—an irreversible action.
Try Now!DEBRIEFING Panopticon (Part 1) - Jeremy Bentham
How did it feel to take on the role of the Panopticon's prison guard?
What criteria did you use to decide whether to put a game on high alert?
How many games, in the end, were not placed on high alert?
In the end, what was truly wrong with the games you put on high alert?
Panopticon (Part 2) - Jeremy Bentham
Bentham, speaking about his architectural idea, wrote: *"I wonder if it could be applied, without exception, to all buildings where a certain number of people must be kept under supervision [...] whether in lifelong prisons, isolation prisons before trial, penitentiaries, correctional facilities, workhouses, factories, asylums, or schools."*
You will once again take on the role of a Panopticon guard: happy monitoring!
